AI WON’T SAVE YOU · JAB PETERSEN

One task.
One useful result.

A practical worksheet adapted from the book’s focus on evidence, judgment and action. Use a task you already need to finish. No new app or subscription required.

1 · Define finished

What will you produce, who will use it, and what must be true for it to be useful?

2 · Keep one bet

What will you work on now? What ideas or tools go on your “not now” list?

3 · Decide before prompting

Write your own first answer. Then ask AI for the strongest objection and the assumption you should test. Do not give it confidential material.

4 · Check what matters

Which fact, calculation or requirement could make this result fail? Verify it against an appropriate source or test. Record what you checked.

5 · Put it to use

What did you actually send, test or use? What happened? What will you change next time?

Illustrative example: draft a client proposal → verify the scope and price → send the approved version → record the client’s response. A generated draft alone is not evidence that the proposal worked. Entries stay in this page while open; they are not saved automatically or transmitted. Print to retain them.
